Red, White, and Bulldog

Welcome to my cyber home where I PAWS monthly to ponder.

Scrape off the day's dirt...

find a cozy seat with a view,

and grab a favorite treat to munch on as you savor some summer settings.

Have you been able to hear some live music with some loved ones?

At an outdoor concert venue,

or on a village green,

with tasty treats -

possibly under the stars?

Did you join a Summer Reading Club and discover new genres?

Have you gathered with some friends for a potluck
and played some old fashioned games like Pictionary?

Have you chased a ball or cheered for those who do?

Have you tried a new look, like a summer cut or color?

Have you taken any walks to see how many shades of green there are in a garden
or been dazzled by the vastness of a prairie?

Have you stretched your world and connected it to those farther away?

Have you valued freedom and the growth it allows you?
Did you attend a parade?

Have you sailed off to,
driven to,
or at least let your mind daydream to
 someplace new?

Have you seen beauty in-between the cracks?

Have you created something new, maybe stitched together with well loved memories?

Have you followed others and trusted that they can help you reach new heights?

Can you now squawk about learning a new technique?
Are you willing to share your knowledge with others?

Or have you marked your territory,

isolated, and become trapped in the same rut?

It's your choice.

Here's a "mugshot" toast to those of you who have seized summer
and shared your sizzling experiences!

My hat is off to you!

Congrats for trying new experiences,
trusting others,
and sharing your joy!

It's not too late to PAWS and rethink your summer!

You still have time to catch a wave of excitement!

Neighborly Love

Check out this amazing statue our neighbors gave us!
What an awesome way to greet folks when they come to the front door!

It's summer time!
Time to start grilling out!
(And dropping juicy tidbits!)
Here's a "throwback" photo of me at my old Ohio digs.

And a recent photo at my new digs.

Here's another oldie but goodie that never made it to the blog:

Now that my human brother is a college graduate we have more time to hang out.
We love snoozin'.

How do you find your inner peas? (Peace.)

Mom likes to volunteer.
(She has to be careful not to over do it though.)

How do you to lend a hand to others?

(Through both paid and unpaid work.)

It's as simple as black and white.
We all need to help one another - AND ask for help!
We cannot do life alone.

Most likely these dogs are not all owned by just these two guys.
Their owners had to ask for help so their dogs could get a walk.

Mom says she will not miss the cottonwood and other tree sheddings.

Can you relate to this ad?

Summer is a great time to kickback and laugh with friends!

Put on your favorite music!

Put up some decorations and have a party!

Go out on the lake in a boat!

If you start to complain about the heat
just PAWS in the sunshine
(maybe even make some sun tea)

and remember how cold it was this winter!!!

P.S.
Dad washed the IKEA slipcovers.
Don't tell him I snuck on the forbidden white couch when he was out.
It'll be our little secret.

Come visit me this summer!

Rainbow Writings

That quote helps me deal when it's raining cats and dogs around here...

Like when I am not allowed to go with my family where they go.

See me?
I am there, right behind the closed door,
watching Mom leave.
(Dad took me to the "spa" later.)

My human brother graduated from college in Ohio
and although other dogs were obviously allowed near the events I was not.

And in Ohio they went to Graeter's and the Old Bag of Nails -
both places where dogs are welcome.

While traveling Mom saw some big, hairy dogs at a yarn shop.

Let me state this in black and white:
I like being with my family.
(I also do not like it when my toys get lost under the couch.)

Anyway, check out my friend's summer cut - so stylin!

And how about this cool village sticker?
For the next year all the vehicles in town will be
reminding everyone how great dogs are!
Booyah!

Here's some items Mom saw this past month she wants me to "dog-ument" on the blog.
(Mind you that catty shirt is just wrong.)

Now that the flowers are finally blooming I have been able to get out for walks.

I love it when Dad and I go through the park!

Mom met this dog in Michigan.
Her name is Black Pearl.
She's pretty!

Although I can't have bones for a treat
I do appreciate the idea of this big of a perk.

Mom brought back some coloring books from her parents' home.
These are the ones I like best.

Isn't it cool how my human sister and her friends
lined up their prom dresses like a rainbow?

Mom listens to K Love on the radio.
She likes the way the music calms her and makes her joyful.
One of her favorite songs is Laura Story's "Blessings" which has the lyrics:
"What if your blessings come through raindrops?"
and
"What if the trials of this life
the rain
the storms
the hardest nights.
Are your mercies in disguise?"

How do you deal with the storms of life?
How do you celebrate the rainbows?

PAWS and try your best to have a sunny disposition -
it's sure to make you glow all over!
