If you are watching live television you are seeing police brutality,
peaceful protesting, violent rioting, and senseless looting.
These human responses are not just because of
the murder of George Floyd but the ongoing oppression in our country.
This blog advocates
LOVE AND PEACE

LOVE AND PEACE
NOT VIOLENCE!
The blog mainly focuses on light humor and gratitude
but we want you to know we care deeply about
unrest and want this message to be in the forefront:
WE CARE ABOUT ALL LIVES.
We are all responsible for this world to be safe and loving.

While sheltering in place this month
we've also watched:
we've also watched:
virtual graduation ceremonies,
online archival moments,
and Covid 19 based fundraisers.
Usually we "Idol"ize singing shows
but a friend asked us to raise our "Voice" too.
We're rewatching shows we've loved.
Laughing has helped deal with the stress of the virus.
Jimmy Fallon's humor has been great!
Mom's been watching documentaries
so she can TRY and understand what happened.
It's still puzzling.
Speaking of puzzles...
Mom has never been a puzzle person.
Well, she's been "barn again."
I now sit under a folding table
beside her slippered feet for hours
while she connects tiny pieces of colored cardboard.
When Mom went to a store to find a puzzle
there was only one left.
(And it was too disturbing to purchase.)
Thank goodness her favorite resale store had some for her to bring home.
One of the puzzles was very, very hard!
But even puzzles that LOOK easy can be deceivingly hard.
It's also not puzzling a second surge of Covid 19 seems to be pending.
Too many people are congregating in tight crowds!
When some of the restrictions opened up
I was able to go to the vet's
to get my nails done.
They had become talons!
The weird thing was Mom had to leave me unleashed in a foyer
WITH HER CREDIT CARD.
Well, what was a dog to do?
I bought a round of flea meds for all my friends! (JK)
We hear stories about people living in sweats and not bathing.
I understand.
I had my first bath in months.
CAUTION: Yoga ahead.
Mom has had to exercise from home now.
I've been soaking in the sunshine
but sometimes I over do it
and Mom has to put a cold cloth on me.
I look like Rocky, don't you think?
Being at home for days on end is for the birds!
We sit and stare out the windows.
(There's a nest inside that vent. The baby birds are LOUD.)
A pair of hawks have taken residence in our area!
They are really fun to watch.
We bought binoculars from our favorite resale shop
Forest & Found so we can try and see the hawks better.
Mom tried to put up one of those bird seed bells.
The plastic hole at the top BROKE immediately!
So she rigged up a pot strainer! Ha!
Watch a smart squirrel just come steal the whole thing.
Hope you are getting outside for some fresh air.
Have you seen anything interesting lately?
Nature is such a balm for the soul.
Even weeds can give a burst of colorful joy.
It feels so good to be in the sunshine!
Make sure you look both down and up.
Comfort foods help during quarantine.
It's especially lovely when your neighbor brings you baked goodies.
Celebratory nibbles are fun!
F.R.O.G.ing continues to be helpful in quarantine.
(Fully Rely On God)
Look closely below - there's two TOADS and a spider in there!
Because, as I've TOAD you all before
Are you staying in touch with friends through calls and the mail?
It's good to have buddies.
Thank you SiriusXM
Mom loved having the 70s on 7
playing while she made collages.
Button embellishment has brought her joy too.
More vintage LPs have been spinned.
Coloring while listening
to podcasts and sermons has been calming.
Movie soundtracks have awesome mixes of music!
Lots of good music out there!
Walks to the beach have been a balm.
Have you put in a Victory Garden?
Sadly we don't have enough direct sun.
Since stores are not open for shopping
Curbs R Us has become even more interesting.
Have you bought anything online that supports a small business, charity or artist?
Donated to a nonprofit?

Always PAWS and take the time to see the beauty in the world.
Oh, and buy yourself some flowers!

Never forget the souls lost to Covid-19.
And not just in the U.S.
but all around the world.
Pray for the families and friends
who have lost loved ones.
Thoughts of compassion for
the many more still to die.
Thank you Front Line.
Keep the prayers coming.
Wear a mask.
Stay home if possible.
Keep 6 feet apart.
Wash your hands.
Magnus I love all the nature in this post!
ReplyDeleteNice way to start the day. Stay mellow, Magnus!
