Do you know what I mean?
Whenever you get run down or feeling blue
just remember to F.R.O.G. (fully rely on God)!
He will see you through dangers
and turnmoil.
As life changes like the wind
you can find comfort in the gardens of peace and beauty.
See your doc (vet) regularly
and be honest about what ails you.
Get things taken care of professionally.
If you're feeling poopy
tell your friends!
Don't be a hotdog trying to deal
with things on your own.
Don't be a target for loneliness
or negative behaviors.
(Not funny. Okay, kinda funny. But only if it's meant to be funny.)
Invite some faithful pals to your pad.
Swim with some buddies or throw a boomarang with one.
Take a tub!
(Ironically Mom says the hot tub is a good place
for her to chill out if she's heated up.)
Go hear some live music and rock out or go collect rocks together.
Cook healthy foods together.
Go grab a vanful of folks
and fill them up with fast food,
or go to an Indian all you can eat buffet!
Pop a pop with your pop!
Share some coffee and donuts!
Or bake a cake...as in, "Let them eat cake!"
Playing a team sport is a great way to stay healthy
and keep friendships strong.
But be sure to build your friendships upon a firm foundation.
Filled with love and trust.
Save up some money...
...and go thrifting, antiquing, or bargain shopping with a bud.
Then put on your favorite outfit and go out dancing!
Buy party hats or keep away the skin cancer sun bonnets.
Maybe some tricked up kicks.
Listen to some favorite tunes or tail tales.
The newest American Idol, Maddie Poppe
is who Mom likes listening to currently.
Whose music makes you smile?
(Mom follows Maddie, Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Catie Turner
on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram and says they make her giggle.
She's excited to hear them in September during the American Idol Tour.
She told me she hopes they Rest. Drink Water. & Enjoy.)

It's nice to find someplace to sit and read a good book.
Literacy is the gift of life!
Check out Mary Ethel Eckard's book The Making of a Dragonfly.
Reading aloud to someone is especially sweet.
Make sure you find a comfy place.
Shady spots are good. Or full sun - as long as you have on sunscreen!
Make sure your house is a home.
NOT someplace that drives you...
It needs to be someplace you can go
for warmth, light and love.
Your home should make you SMILE.
Going for a joy ride is a great way
to unwind after a long, hot day.
Summertime is great for nibbles outside
during concerts in a park.
There's so many ways to connect with friends!
Take a walk outside - even in the rain!
Nature hikes are a great way to renew and refresh!
( And hey, if you need some alone time -
just remember, God is right there beside you
just in case you need some reassuring company.)
Do you have a special place where you can go to
see and meet people who really "get you?"
Like the tee shirt says...
"Sometimes the best way to figure out who you are
is to get to a place where you don't have to be anything else."
It's s'more fun to be outside with some campfire friends.
Friends can help shine light in the darkness.
Speaking of being in the dark...
Find a second run theater or go to the movies on weekly discount days.
Ever tried sailing? It's a good activity for two peeps!
If you get a coupon book you can find bargain deals
on restaurants and activities.
Volunteering together is a super way to help others
while helping your own spiritual growth.
For example, donate your time with a
youth group, at a Y camp, or stock a food bank!
youth group, at a Y camp, or stock a food bank!
Board games may seem "old school"
but there's plenty of modern ones out there!
Remember to PAWS, look in the mirror and say,
"My mental health is important.
I know how to reach out to others
for help and for FUN.
I am worth it.
God made me just the way I am and I'm beautiful!"
