Be Flexible

You've probably heard the expression,
"If you aren't flexible, you'll break."
Well, this month we put that idea in action.
We ain't broken yet.
Another favorite expression heard a lot in our family is,
"ARE WE THERE YET???"
Road trips are a given in the summer and so are
CONSTRUCTION and delays.
Also common during this time of Covid are
CANCELLATIONS.
All these issues are only hard to deal with
if you let them bother you.
Make sure your plans have some flexibility.
Things do NOT always happen as planned...
Sometimes things become
TANGLED,
need extra attention,
and always end better with acceptance.
When these experiences happen
it's best if you take time to rest.
It will help quiet your mind.
(Postcard has lyrics and an original drawing
by the musician Pepper Said.)
Meditative coloring can bring peace of mind.
Mom drew this mandala
as part of the library's reading program.
Are you taking enough naps?
My friends and I can teach you how.

But the best way to keep calm is to F.R.O.G.
(Fully Rely On God)
(We know, we've "TOAD" you this stuff before.)
Thrifting helps Mom distract herself from
obsessive thinking about things she does
NOT need to be thinking about.
The colors, patterns
and kitschiness of VINTAGE STUFF make her happy.

Another way to RELAX is to go to a summer carnival or fair.
Mom and Dad played the water gun race game!
(They lost. Boo hoo.)
Have you had some things that have bugged you?
Seen anything fishy?
Had some things go off the rails?
Had any storms blow into your life?
Has your home lost power this summer?
Did you let the situation have power over you?
How did you deal with these trials?
Did your day go down the toilet?
Get super sticky?
Or did you let the song,
Turn, Turn, Turn
play in your head
and know there's a season
for everything?
We all need to remember not to OVERDO.
Set healthy boundaries.
Are you remembering to
take care of things when you are
Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired?
You may need to H.A.L.T.
Sometimes take out is worth the cost!
Food trucks are awesome too!
Just don't pig out!

Are you putting your feet up enough?
Mom got these cool camp socks at
Has anything scared you lately?
Has anything been irritating?
Have things you nurtured, just not grown like you expected?
(While others' projects seem to flourish?)
Take time to read some inspirational literature.
It will ground you and help you deal with disappointments.
Spending time with friends is a great stress reliever.

Take time for spa moments.
You are worth it.

Music soothes Mom's soul.
Especially live music!
It's hard staying inside all the time!
Sometimes you've just got to get outside and wander...

Make sure you stay hydrated!
(FYI: COFFEE DEHYDRATES.)
Spending some money on yourself can be therapeutic.
(Just stay in your budget!)
Mom even commissioned a portrait of
ME
by Haylee at HM Designs Studios!
and
Remember to always hold on to HOPE.
Because sometimes things you have given up on...
GROW.
I HOPE to have a photo of a sunflower
blooming on the September blog!
Hey,
BEE positive,
and it could happen!
I hope you've found ways to PAWS,
see beauty, rest and play this month!
Peace be with you.

Rock on!
May the road you journey upon be pothole free.
Take lots of photos!
Sometimes life sucks.
